A French plane carries President Lonsdale to Tanna [fr]

The President of Vanuatu, Mr. Baldwin Lonsdale, went to Tanna on board a FANC military aircraft.

On 28 March the President of Vanuatu, Mr. Baldwin Lonsdale, went to Tanna on board a military aircraft from FANC (Armed Forces of New Caledonia). He was accompanied by Mr. Bernard Lesterlin, Member of Parliament from Allier department (central France), who was visiting Vanuatu, and the French ambassador, Mr. Alain du Boispéan. General Luc de Revel, FANC commander in chief, showed President Lonsdale what France set up on Tanna shortly after TC Pam.

President Lonsdale met with the military team on the ground and with members of “Solidarité-Tanna” NGO. He also visited Lowanatom college, whose facilities were very much affected by Cyclone Pam.
