Official visit to Vanuatu of the European Union Ambassador for the Pacific, Mr. Sujiro Seam
On the occasion of the visit to Vanuatu of the European Union Ambassador for the Pacific, Mr. Sujiro Seam, a reception was organized at the Résidence de France on January 21, 2020.
After having presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Vanuatu, Obed Moses Tallis, that morning, and having met the Prime Minister, Charlot Salwai, as well as the main members of the government and the diplomatic corps, the Ambassador Sujiro Seam participated in a reception organized in his honor at the Résidence de France, alongside the British High Commissioner, Mrs. Karen Bell, with representatives of civil society and the honorary consuls of the member states of the European Union .
The attachment of the European Union to the promotion of good governance and sustainable development in Vanuatu was recalled, while the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) is being implemented in the country, in particular in support to agricultural sectors (beef, coconut, fruits and vegetables).
The French Ambassador recalled on this occasion France’s historic role in the construction of Europe and the importance of its commitment today: France contributes 17% to the EDF.
